As our company continues to expand, we are seeking a Field Project Manager who thrives outside the office, someone who leads projects directly in the field and ensures successful execution from start to finish.
This is not a drafting-only role. We are looking for a hands-on leader who spends approximately 80% of their time on job sites and 20% coordinating internally.

Position Overview
The Field Project Manager is responsible for overseeing mechanical kitchen exhaust and fire suppression projects from kickoff through completion.
This role requires an individual comfortable managing active construction environments, coordinating multiple trades, and representing Done Right Hood & Fire Safety directly with clients, contractors, and inspectors.
The ideal candidate understands plans and installations but is primarily focused on execution, coordination, and leadership in the field, not sitting behind a desk producing drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret architectural, mechanical, and construction drawings and specifications.
- Prepare accurate project estimates and quotations.
- Solicit and coordinate pricing from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Analyze project requirements and develop competitive bid proposals.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with general contractors and project stakeholders.
- Follow up on bids and proposals to maximize project awards and close sales opportunities.
- Schedule and coordinate equipment purchases, fabrication, and material procurement.
- Manage equipment deliveries and ensure materials arrive on schedule.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, including installation timelines and job durations.
- Coordinate labor, subcontractors, and field crews to meet project milestones.
- Monitor project costs, change orders, and profitability.
- Communicate regularly with contractors, vendors, and customers regarding project status.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Qualifications
- Experience in kitchen exhaust systems, HVAC, sheet metal, mechanical contracting, or commercial construction preferred.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Experience with estimating, project management, procurement, and scheduling.
- Proven ability to negotiate contracts and close awarded projects.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating/project management software.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
